WHEELS ROLL

9 Jan 2028

Five days, three ancient cities, Dambulla, Sigiriya, Anuradhapura.  One finish line that matters.

Why it matters

Two things every rider
leaves behind

CLEAN DRINKING WATER

A water purification plant for Anuradhapura

Farming communities in Sri Lanka’s North Central Province live with chronic kidney disease of unknown cause (CKDu), and safe drinking water is a daily struggle. A reverse-osmosis plant gives a whole village clean water from a tap.

BICYCLES FOR RURAL CHILDREN

The difference between getting to school or not

For a child in a rural village, a bicycle turns a long walk into a short ride, and a missed class into a full school day. We will join the closing ceremony in Seenigama to hand over the cheque to purchase these bicycles for these rural communities.

Your story

In January 2028 I’m cycling five days through Sri Lanka’s ancient cities, Dambulla, Sigiriya and Anuradhapura, as one of just 50 riders in Ride for Hope 2028.

[Your why, in one or two sentences. For example: “My family comes from Sri Lanka,” or “I’ve always wanted to do something bigger than a weekend ride.”]

I’m raising money for two things that change lives. The first is a water purification plant in Anuradhapura, where farming families live with chronic kidney disease and clean drinking water is hard to come by. The second is bicycles for rural children, so a long walk to school becomes a short ride.

I’m covering my own travel costs. Your donation goes to the projects. We’ll be there in person to open the water plant and hand over cheque to purchase the bikes, and I’ll share photos with everyone who supports me.

Every dollar gets us closer. Thank you for backing me.

Tips from past charity riders

Small habits that hit the target

Donate to yourself first. Pages with an opening donation attract more, faster.

Ask people directly. A personal message beats a public post every time.

Post an update every few weeks. Training rides, milestones and photos keep your page alive.

Thank publicly. Every shout-out reminds someone else to give.

Ask about workplace matching. It can double a donation at no extra cost.
